The Blue Mountains, Katoomba New South Wales, Australia.

After years of yearning and dreaming, I finally got to see the Blue Mountains in January this year.  Some of the sights we saw during the six days we staying in Katoomba were beyond words.

Today’s photo was taken at sunset on December 28, 2010.

I had always wanted to see The Twelve Apostles before they crumbled into the ocean.  So on Christmas Day 2010, we set out to drive more than 2,000 kilometres (1,242.7 miles) to stay at a little B&B for the sole purpose of enjoying the wonder and beauty of those famous limestone formations along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.

But getting there was not without a slight hiccup:

Five Photos, Five Stories – Day Three

Thank you Rosalyn for inviting me to join this wonderful challenge.


Today’s photo was taken in May, 2010.

We were holidaying on the island of Hudhuranfushi, North Male Atoll in the Maldives and Dean was off surfing (somewhere), so I had the morning to myself.  I could have had a massage or any number of luxurious treatments on offer.

Instead I chose to find a seat by the water’s edge.

Five Photos, Five Stories – Day Two

Today’s photo was taken on Good Friday 2009.

Once again, I was away on a business trip and Dean flew over to Perth, Western Australia, for the Easter long weekend before both of us then flew home to Brisbane, Queensland.

On Good Friday, we caught the train from the city to Cottesloe Beach to enjoy fish and chips (naturally) and watch, what we had been told was the most amazing thing, the sunset.

Today’s photo was taken in late October 2008.

I was working in Montreal on a business trip and Dean flew over to spend time with me.  As the Canadian tourist season finishes towards the end of October, we were ‘stranded’, so naturally speaking, we flew down to New York for four days.
